RTI’s Why

RTI’s mission to create meaningful digital products that delight customers and scale business. Our proprietary digital innovation process and frameworks have led to dozens of successful solutions, but as an organization that puts outcomes over outputs, we had bigger aspirations.

We knew that by sharing our approach, we could raise the bar for digital innovation across our industry and exponentially increase the number of lives we touch. As we explored opportunities, it became more and more clear that the best place to start was with the next generation of innovators.

Our Partnership

For the past four years, RTI has been mentoring students from Sheridan’s Interaction Design (IXD) Program in creating meaningful digital solutions. We’ve coached over 200 students on how to validate problem spaces and design digital solutions using the RTI’s proven approach.

In addition to our mentorship, our team dedicates time to review the students’ work and awards winning teams with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience.

RTI’s vision is to positively impact 1 billion lives with meaningful digital solutions. Through the CoLab Workshop, Sheridan's IXD students have worked alongside RTI to support exploratory research into specific problem spaces and surface creative solutions.

The 2022/2023 CoLab students helped flesh out the research that led to Kindl, a AI-powered platform for building and fostering deeper relationships.

The 2023/2024 semesters had students solving for Disaster Management and tackling the Housing Accessibility crisis.

In the current 2024/2025 semesters, our teams are developing solutions for Family Harmony in the Modern Age, Early Childhood Education, and Equitable Healthcare Access.
